Light and lacy: Stitch Twenty-Seven!

So, I've been dreading this stitch for a while now.  From simply flipping through the book, the problem with the stitch becomes apparent.  It runs over onto the next page and the next one, because there are 12 rows in each repeat.  The entire baby blanket only took four repeats which means that I still have not mastered the stitch by the end.  I had to keep referencing the pattern book for how many to chain and how many and where to put ch 3.  The overall effect of this stitch is pretty, like little lacy pineapples or chevrons.  A full sized blanket would make you repeat it enough to master the stitch, but I do not recommend it for small or medium projects unless you are familiar with it already.  I do think it would make a beautiful lace shawl.

Here's how to make it:
Chain 93, then work 4 repeats of the stitch, ending with row 12.  It should be square at this point.
Border:
Round 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner
Round 2: dc around, 5 dc in each corner
Round 3: sc around, 3 sc in each corner
Round 4: (sc, ch 3, sk 1) around, (sc, ch 3, sc in same stitch) at corner

I made this using Baby Bee Sweet Delights Blueboy yarn with a J hook.
