After the complexity of stitch 27, I was ready for something simple, quick, and easy. Stitch 28 is all of those. It essentially is a modified shell stitch that is faster than the simple shell stitch. It grows as quickly as dc and is so very nice and mindless. You chain the same number at the start of every row and halfway through the second row I had this stitch down. The fabric is fairly solid and warm. I really like this stitch and will use it again for any number of projects. It worked well for a baby blanket and would be good for full sized blankets, scarves, shawls, basically anything.
Here's how to make it:
Chain 91, then work the stitch until work is square. Add the standard border and you're done.
Round 1: sc around, 3 sc in each corner
Round 2: dc around, 5 dc in each corner
Round 3: sc around, 3 sc in each corner
Round 4: (sc, ch 3, sk 1) around, (sc, ch 3, sc in same stitch) at corner
I made this using Baby Bee Sweet Delight Precious Ombre with a J hook.
